There's something about old trees that fascinates me. Years ago, while living in Phoenix and taking random trips up to the Grand Canyon, I shot frame after frame (on film of all thing!) of old, twisted trees clinging to rocks and rim. In the days of film, there wasn't much that could be done to 'rescue' photos, things I do on a regular basis now: straighten a horizon, crop to a better composition, add color, delete color, de-haze, take out bits and pieces, etc., etc., etc. I believe this photo, of this tree in black and white, honors my love of old trees. It can be found, along with it's full-colored brother, in my Treescapes portfolio.
